The new front wall will be adorned by my very own little lizard, which I hope to cast in crystal clear polyester resin next week (weather permitting). First, I bought a little gecko made from brass and silver, made a mould from silicone rubber and did a practise cast.
All very nice, but the emotional attachment is missing since the original form wasn't made by myself.
Anyway, I am please that my plans worked out: a single-part mould rather than the complicated multi-part that literature suggests for all things with undercuts, and multi-colour resin cast.
The photo here shows the cast in the mould, lying on its back. This is almost nicer to look at than the gecko just after being hatched (not yet polished); check it out yourself.
